Bluetooth allows users to exchange voice and data transmissions within a short distance from one another between two or more electronic devices. There are many ways to use Bluetooth technology, such as connecting Bluetooth earpiece which is hands free with your cell phone, pairing a Bluetooth printer with your computer, and more. By using Bluetooth you will connect, sync, and interact, without need to set up complex networks and passwords. Bluetooth allows various devices and is in all places now days, even in car stereos and from mobile phones to laptops and can be set up in just a few minutes. Here in this article I am showing how to use Bluetooth technology.

What Bluetooth Does?
It is a wireless connectivity tool that allows you to “pair” your device. It has a maximum range of about 30 feet and transfer speed of about 24 Mbps, so that they can interact with each other. A master Bluetooth device can bond up to seven other, but not all devices work this way. You can pair a gaming controller to a computer, and you can send music from your smart phone or laptop to a Bluetooth-enabled speaker without having to connect them, or set up a home theater.
Check your devices are Bluetooth enabled
Bluetooth is the market leader in wireless connectivity around about 20 years. Chances are that your wireless device comes with Bluetooth support. Every smart phone is able to pair with Bluetooth devices and all laptops will have built-in Bluetooth and most desktops do not include it. Using Bluetooth applications you will text or chat with your friends by downloading Bluetooth apps to your cell phone. If you want to connect your desktop computer to Bluetooth devices you will need to purchase a Bluetooth dongle. Modern cars and newer printers have Bluetooth facilities, which allow pairing your phone while you are in driving, and you can print wirelessly.
Capabilities of Bluetooth
Every Bluetooth device has either single or multiple functionalities and has slightly different functionality. Some mobiles may only allow you to use Bluetooth for making phone calls, whereas smart phones allow you to transfer files to and from other cell phones. To know how you can use the Bluetooth technology, consult with the maker or review the instruction booklet of your electronic devices.
Bluetooth Pairing
If you have to connect your devices to one another wirelessly, use Bluetooth technology, which is also called as “pairing”. It varies from device to device. In general if you are pairing a headset to a smart phone, the headset would be put into “pairing” and your phone will be in “listen” mode. Then the connection would be established and phone will “discover” the headset.

Steps followed for the pairing process.
- Switch on the Bluetooth in both the devices and click on add a new device.
- When pairing devices, you will be asked for a PIN before the connection is made and Pairing only needs to be done once. It asks for PIN while connecting, you can type any number or default you can use 1111 or 0000.
- Once Bluetooth is enabled on the devices, connections will happen automatically in future.
How to use Bluetooth Technology
- Transfer Files: You will allow transferring files and documents from one device to another using Bluetooth devices. If your friend has a collection of melody songs on his file manager, you can pair phone with your friend’s phone and quickly get copies from him. You can transfer files between cameras and camcorders, cell phones, televisions, computers, laptops and more.
- Talk on Phone: Some land-line telephones or smart phones can be paired with Bluetooth earpieces, so without having to hold its receiver you can talk on the phone. So, talk on the phone using Bluetooth technology. It is useful when you have a lot for work and don’t have to search it out every time you get a call.
- Tether your phone: Your can allocate your phone’s mobile network connection with your computer through tethering. You will also connect to internet on your computer without having to connect to a Wi-Fi. Some smart phones allow tethering, so check with your smart phone while using this.
- To drive safer: It is a crime to hold a cell phone in your hand and talk while you are driving, in some states. Talk on your phone while driving using Bluetooth and it will allow you to drive without breaking the law. So, built the Bluetooth technology directly into your automobile. So, you can keep both hands placed on the steering wheel when you are in driving. Through Bluetooth you can play music over the car stereo when connected to the phone.
- Synchronize: You can synchronize your data between your Bluetooth devices. You will synchronize data like emails, events, calendar and contact lists between one another. You will also synchronize or transfer your phone contacts, data etc with your computer or another phone.
- Bluetooth equipment: Using Bluetooth devices allow you to work more freely and decrease cables. You can type from anywhere without accuracy using Bluetooth keyboards and mice and Bluetooth printers allow you to take the print from the printer without cables.
- Bluetooth devices: You will set up a surround sound system using Bluetooth speakers. You will have a Bluetooth receiver to set up a Bluetooth home theater system and you can organize and interact with your media much easier with Bluetooth.
- Multiplayer games: It is an easy way to set up a multiplayer gaming session with Bluetooth which allows you to build a local network between two phones. It is more reliable to game over the internet and this works only if you are in the same room. You can connect a PlayStation 3 or 4 controllers to your computer if your computer is Bluetooth enabled.
- Security: You can lock or unlock your home or car with the tap of a button on your smart phone. Search your local hardware store for Bluetooth-capable deadbolt systems.
