Do you want to start your own channel on YouTube to review apps and video games?

The first place to start would be choosing the right tool to record screen in Windows 10. There is plethora of free software that promises to let you record your computer’s desktop. However, most of them either sacrifice on quality or come packed with dozens of adware and malware that could bring your computer to a grinding halt. After scouring the Internet, reviewing dozens of apps, we finally came across Movavi Screen Capture Studio, giving budding content creators several options in one powerful package.

With Movavi Screen Capture Studio, we were able to capture our desktop without sacrificing on quality, allowing us to start our very own YouTube channel that boasted incredible quality at 1080p and beyond. The only problem that really stood in our way was YouTube’s specialized algorithm that compresses videos to save space – this inadvertently results in some loss in quality, but this is also true for so many other YouTubers out there.

So how does Movavi Screen Capture Studio let you record your desktop screen in Windows 10 with perfection?

Step 1) Downloading and Installing the Software

You should first begin by downloading the installer from the official website. Run the downloaded file and follow the onscreen instructions in order to successfully install the program.

Step 2) Defining the Capture Parameters

The software will give you versatile tools for recording your screen. You can use these to immediately start working on your video projects. To select the recording area, move your cursor over to the program that you want to capture and press the left button on your mouse. Alternatively, you can switch to your desired capture frame by holding the left button on your mouse and dragging the cursor to the capture frame.

Once you are satisfied with the capture frame, you will now be required to choose a resolution. Simply select your desired size preset, or click on ‘custom’ if you want to define the size.

Finally, select the audio device used to record the sound. It could be the microphone, speakers or a combination of both. The audio device being currently used is toggled green. Make sure they are both green, if you want to utilize audio from both devices in your recording.

Step 3) Recording Your Desktop Screen in Windows 10

Click on the “REC” button to initiate the recording process. This will trigger a short 3-second countdown. You can control the recording process with “Pause” and “Stop” buttons. With the “Stop” button, your video is saved in MKV format, but if you want to change the format and edit the video, click on “Open In Editor”.

Step 4) Editing the Video

After clicking on “Open in Editor”, a suite of options will appear. These options will let you adjust effects, add colors, crop, rotate and cut the video into small parts. Finally, you can click on “Export” to save the video on your computer’s hard disk or to upload it online on a video sharing website of your choice.

Step 5) Converting the Video to a Different Format

To save the recorded video in your favorite format, click on the “Save As” button and select the format you want from the pop-up window. Click “Save” and you’re all set.
